A White Skirt for Winter?

An essential piece of clothing that is typically associated with summertime is the classic white skirt. Many of us don’t consider this but winter calls for white as well, but wearing a white skirt in the winter is different than spring and summer: the purpose is not to reflect the heat.  Finding this look in winter white, which is a slightly warmer, dull white, is pretty simple. All you have to do is make a few considerations while you shop.

Long flowing dresses that are made of light material just don’t hold up to the harsh conditions that winter can bring. Many people shy away from wearing this color during the winter because it is so light and airy. But they are doing themselves a disservice. Another option is a white denim skirt; they're great for the winter months. Again, you do want to find a shade that isn’t the stark-white hue that we commonly think of for summer apparel.  If you feel that sunglasses would be appropriate with the shade of white, it's not winter white.  Remember, we are not trying to deflect the warm sunshine in the colder months like the summer.  That's why winter clothing is usually in darker hues.  If the garment shade looks like billowy clouds then you want to put it away until spring springs forth.
